Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963, to an incredibly musical family from Newark New Jersey is the daughter of the gospel singers Cissy Houston as well as John Russell Houston Jr. She's also the cousin of singer Dionne Warwick. Whitney, her album Whitney which came out in 1987, featuring smash tracks What Do Broken Hearts go? and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, built upon her previous success. It came with The Bodyguard (1996) that established her as the top selling album in music. Although her performance in the film and soundtrack was not well-received, the Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and the accompanying album topped charts around the globe for months. When she welcomed her daughter Bobbi she married Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. It was about this time that her much documented substance abuse began. By 1996, she was a regular drug user.
